#Whereisthis?

Wanna know? Make a small donation!

Hi friends,

Now that you are here and our attention span is collectively super low (Thanks to the constant screen time made worse by this pandemic), I am going to dive straight into this!

  • Listed are some Non Profits that are working in areas that personally matter to me
  • YOU can make a difference by making a small donation as small as buying a cup of coffee at Starbucks!
  • Every dollar matters! I have linked the buttons straight to the donation pages but feel free to research and see what that particular non-profit does
  • Doing good is always in vogue

“The truth is: the natural world is changing. And we are totally dependent on that world. It provides our food, water and air. It is the most precious thing we have and we need to defend it.”

Sir David Attenborough

Conservation Northwest

Restoring habitat connectivity has been a cornerstone of Conservation Northwest’s work since their founding in 1989. By focusing on connecting the big landscapes, they have successfully protected vital wildlife corridors and reconnected habitat between Washington’s North and South Cascades, from the British Columbia Coast and Chilcotin Ranges to the North Cascades, from the Cascades to the Kettle River Range and Greater Rocky Mountains, and more.

A donation or membership is an investment in the future! Your tax-deductible gift supports our efforts to protect, connect and restore the wildlands and wildlife of the Pacific Northwest.

“I’d gone into a war zone.  Everything was a challenge.  The best part of the day was hearing the cell door lock at night.  Then there was this 3-day workshop.  I didn’t care what it was about, it was 3 days out of the environment.  Those 3 days, they changed my life.”

Formerly incarcerated, Freedom Project Board President

Freedom Project

This is a personal one for me. I had actively volunteered and worked with this non-profit in 2015-16. The staff and volunteers are deeply committed to working towards racial equity and anti-oppression. I had worked with them on several projects that involved re-entry programs for incarcerated individuals. This experience with Freedom Project was personally life changing where I learnt to dissolve my biases and judgement. This was also a healing space for me where I worked with people who were able to shed their pasts, forgive themselves, discover good and work towards a loving, compassionate and a healthy future for themselves. This workspace also taught me the essence of ‘mindfulness.’

Freedom Project’s vision is that together we shift from punishment to restoration, from oppression to equity, and from apathy to empathy.

Freedom Project interrupts the cycle of incarceration with programs that provide healing connection and restorative communities for participants both inside and outside prison. Our programs support incarcerated individuals and those recently released through the practice of Nonviolent Communication, mindfulness, racial equity and anti-oppression. These practices define who we are, how we work with the communities we serve, and how we train our volunteers.

Freedom Project exists because of community support. We are all in this together and we welcome your financial contributions to support the ongoing work of dismantling mass incarceration and healing its traumatic effects on our community.

“Animals are such agreeable friends—they ask no questions; they pass no criticisms.” George Eliot, British Author

Seattle Humane Society

I like animals better than people! I have always been an animal lover and grew up with dogs and now a reckless, badass and stylish black cat has claimed my heart. So, humane society is a natural on the list. Show some love for our sweet dogs and cats!

Seattle Humane is the Puget Sound’s leader in animal adoption, education and welfare. Our top priority is to connect animals in need of rescue with the people who will love them.  Through our outreach, advocacy, and services we strive to ensure that animal companionship is accessible to all. Seattle Humane promotes the human-animal bond by saving and serving pets in need, regardless of age, ability, circumstance or geography.

“Because in the end,

you won’t remember the time you spent working in an office or mowing the lawn.

Climb that goddamn mountain.”

– Jack Kerouac
